“A picture is worth a thousand words.”
It is estimated that 96% of all buyers determine the homes they will see based upon the photos they view on the Internet.
So what do you want your home to say?
Here are a couple of words to aim for if you are trying to sell quickly and for top dollar.
CLEAN. This says that your home is maintained well, taken care of and move in ready. We suggest that you deep clean or have your home professionally cleaned so it shows well for photos.
SIMPLE. Rid the home of any clutter. By doing this, you will showcase the features of the house. Potential buyers want to be able to imagine their stuff in your home.
SPACIOUS. Move furniture around or remove it if necessary to provide an easy and functional flow.
BRIGHT. Try to bring as much natural light into your home as you can. Do this by cleaning your windows and opening the blinds.
NEUTRAL. If you have any dramatic colors or decorations, it might be best to replace (or remove completely) with neutral and calm colors and decorations.
Some simple tasks to do prior to the photography appointment:
Mow the grass and do a once over of the landscaping.
Put all toys and extra lawn furniture away. Clear the driveway of any vehicles.
Clear any counter space of all unnecessary stuff.
Stage the room to show what the room is or what it should be.
